'Odyssey 24' with the ANU Centre for Classical Studies

The highlight of the European Festival of Latin and Greek in 2017 was the Odyssey 24 project: an international simultaneous reading of Homer’s Odyssey.  

On Friday evening 24 March at 8.00pm, the ANU Centre for Classical Studies contributed a reading of Odyssey Book 19, joining readers in 180 centres across the world, in 27 countries and 42 languages.

The readers were four recent graduates: Elle Platt, Hugo Branley, Elizabeth Koschel, and Sarah Perley. Dr Avery Andrews read passages in Ancient Greek. We had an audience of over 60 eager listeners in the Classics Museum who were joined by an online audience watching the event live on The School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics page on Facebook.
