The Australian National Dictionary

The Centre's most important publication, the second edition of the Australian National Dictionary is a comprehensive record of the Australian language as it has developed from colonial times to the present.

Lexical monographs

As well as producing standard dictionaries, the Centre also produces a range of specialised studies in aspects of Australian English. These include regional dictionaries that study the language of Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Western Australia, and historical studies that look at the language of gold rushes and the convict era.

The series is based on a display in the Nation: Symbols of Australia gallery at the National Museum of Australia.
