ICH and CHF webinar: 'The role of health communication in patient safety and quality of care'
Friday 27 May 2022

On 25 May 2022, the ANU Institute for Communication in Health Care proudly joined with the Consumer Health Forum of Australia (Australia's national peak body for healthcare consumers) to present a webinar on 'Communication in health care: The role of health communication in patient safety and quality of care'.

Facilitated by CHF Senior Policy Officer Tammy Wolffs, the webinar included presentations by ICH Director Professor Diana Slade and ICH Research Fellow Dr Mary Dahm, as well as by Associate Professor Carmel Crock, Maureen Williams and Professor Imogen Mitchell. Together they touched on patient and carer inclusion in clinical handover, safer diagnosis through better communication, and end-of-life care across Australia.

Also present for a critical discussion of health communication's relationship to patient safety and quality of care were Professor Anne Duggan (Chief Medical Officer, Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care) and Darlene Cox (Executive Director of Health Care Consumers Association Inc.).

Read more about the participants and subject of the event on the CHF's website, or watch the full webinar on YouTube below.
