Corinthian Alabastron

Presented by the Museum of Classical Archaeology, Cambridge. Ht 7.2cm; diam. 4cm.

Intact but the surface is worn and most of the paint missing. Black paint. On the top of the lip is a band and there is another around its edge; on the neck, tongues, then three bands. On the body is a broad zone of dots, with two bands below, then tongues radiating from the centre of the underside. No added colour is preserved.

This is a much simpler piece than 1963.02, but it belongs to the same period and is typical of the simpler products which were exported widely. Compare for example, Ch. Dugas, Délos x.
