Lamp, side view.

Intact. Hard, smooth, pale brown clay, perhaps with a pale slip, but a heavy incrustation covers much of the surface. The lamp is wheelmade, with the spout added by hand. The upper face is depressed, with a circular filling hole in the centre. The spout has a circular hole through to the body and is shaped to give it a pointed end. There is evidence of burning at the wick-hole.
