A Pair of Gold Earrings - 2006.06

Acquisition number: 2006.06

The main body of each earring comprises a roughly square plaque on the front of which is mounted a plain pyramidal element framed by narrow rope pattern. Below each plaque are two hooks and onto them are attached pendants carrying small cylindrical beads of glass of a blue-green colour (somewhat corroded). The hook attached to the back of the plaque has a fine spiral terminal.

Consisting of pyramidal shields edged in twisted wire, with original hooks. The pendant drops have blue glass beads.

Presented by the Friends of the Classics Museum. Width of each plaque ca 12mm. Weight of each earring 3g. Ht ca 28mm.
