Short sword

Short sword, the hilt flanged for inlay and having an elongated crescentic guard. The terminals of the guard curve inwards and continue down the blade to give the impression of a triple rib. Amlash culture, 13th-10th century bc. 34.5cm.

Some corrosion, particularly to the flanges, but effectively complete, with a predominantly green to tan patina.

For examples with single rib to the blade, compare J.P. Barbier 202 and 205.
