Squat Lekythos - 1965.11

Acquisition number:
1965.11

Squat Lekythos.

Intact. Pinkish buff clay. Black glaze, worn and flaking about the mouth. There is a moulding at the junction of the inner face of the foot and the underside of the floor. The neck is offset.

The body is covered with a reticulate arrangement of lines with white dots at the intersections and with further dots at the shoulder to make four consistent rows. There are black and white tongues on the neck. The mouth and the top of the handle were dipped. There is no band on the foot: the black marks are from the brush making the strokes on the body. The underside is reserved.
