Sicilian Black-Glaze Skyphos
From the Woite Collection; probably from the area of Gela, Sicily. Ht 6.5cm; diam. 9.2cm.
Both handles have been broken away and rejoined. Pinkish buff clay. Ring foot. Red-brown paint almost entirely worn away. Both inside and outside were originally painted but for a reserved band on the lower wall. The underside was also painted.
Probably second half of the fifth century BC.
