Second Info Session: Language Assistants Program in Spain 2017-2018

Would you like to live and teach in Spain?

A second informational session about the Language Assistants Program in Spain will be held on 24 October at 6:30pm in the Spanish Resource Centre, Manuka Court, Bougainville St.

The Language and Culture Assistants Program is an initiative of the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Its main objective is to provide Internships to Australian native English speaking university students and graduates, majoring in any subject, with the opportunity to obtain work experience whilst supporting the teaching of English in Spain, in primary or secondary education, or in public language schools, for 12-16 hours a week.

Students will spend a full academic year in Spain from October 2017 to May or June 2018, or a semester from January to May or June 2018. Preferred placement in different Spanish regions can be requested.

The language assistants receive a scholarship to cover accommodation expenses (about 700-1000 euros per month), an orientation course in October and medical insurance. Travel costs to and from the country of origin will be the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.

Candidates must be Australian nationals, speakers of English as a native and possess a university degree or be in their final bachelor year at the end of the academic year 2017, preferably with some knowledge of Spanish (not compulsory).

For the school year 2017-2018 the online application period will commence in January 2017 and finish in early April. Exact dates will be announced towards the end of 2016.
