Centre for Classical Studies presents: Public reading of Homer's Iliad

On Friday 22 March 2019, the Centre for Classical Studies will present a public reading of Homer's Iliad for the Festival Europeen Latin Grec. Some of our brightest and best students in Classics will read aloud sections of Book 22 of this ancient epic poem in Ancient Greek and in English.

Book 22 is one of the most exciting and moving chapters of the Iliad, when Achilles defeats the Trojan prince Hektor in battle.

The reading will take place from 5.00-7.00pm in the Classics Museum (ground floor, AD Hope Building). There will be a short introduction to Homer's Iliad before the reading. Copies of the text will be available. Drinks and nibbles will be provided. This is a free event and members of the public are welcome.
