Volunteer Guides

The Volunteer Guide Program at the ANU was established in 2010. The guides come from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds and have an interest in the classical and ancient world. Apart from guiding, they meet regularly as a group.

Lunch Time Public Tours
Lunch time public tours are held at 11 - 12 pm on the second Friday of the month, with the exception of January.
(*March tour 12:30-1:30pm)
Bookings are not required.

Guided Tours
Guided tours are conducted by the Volunteer Guides for community groups and the wider community Tours can be general or deal with particular aspects of the collection and can be tailored for all age groups. Tours last for 1 to 1 ½ hours, and can be booked for any time during the week.

Annual Program of Lectures
These presentations highlight ‘insights into the Classical World’, and items in the Museum collection. The lectures are held over several mornings in January - February and June - July.
