Everyone is invited to attend the 2016 Commencement Address with Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Schmidt AC and special guests including: 

• Lieutenant General David Morrison AO, BA '79*, (Rtd), 2016 Australian of the Year, Former Chief of the Army
• Professor Mick Dodson AO, 2009 Australian of the Year, Director National Centre for Indigenous Studies 
• Representatives from the ANU Students' Association and Postgraduate Students' Association

The Commencement Address is an opportunity for everyone to get to know more about ANU and why the University is a great place to work, live and study.

It will be MC'd by Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

The first 50 first-year students to arrive will receive an ANU t-shirt. 

For those who can't make it the event will be live streamed from 10am AEDT here. 

In case of wet weather, the event will be held at Llewellyn Hall, ANU School of Music. Refer to this page for updates. 

*Lieutenant General Morrison graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1979.
