Sullivan’s Creek flows through our national university, separating disciplines: sciences on one bank, humanities and social sciences on the other. Or so it would seem.
Join us for the second Conversations event, where four exciting scholars 'cross the creek', communicating their latest research to peers and students from across the University:
- Professor Anna Wierzbicka, Linguistics, School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics
- Professor Bob Williamson, Machine Learning, Reseach School of Computer Science
- Dr Glenn Roe, Digital Humanities, Centre for Digital Humanities Research
- Dr Vanessa Robins, Computational Topology, Research School of Physics & Engineering
These four 10-minute presentations will be followed by interdisciplinary discussions. Light lunch provided.
Conversations across the Creek is an effort, under the auspices of the Head of the Humanities Research Centre (HRC) and the Director of the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS), to provide a space for continuing dialogue among scientists, social scientists, and humanities scholars – with the aim of providing food for thought (and lunch) and of stimulating or unearthing research and teaching collaborations across the University. All staff and students are warmly welcomed to attend.
Please RSVP by Tuesday, April 19 to hrc@anu.edu.au.
