Odyssey ‘Round the World

On December 8th and 9th the 24-hr event Odyssey ‘Round the World took place. The event, as part of Reading Greek Tragedy Online, saw students, faculty, and actors around the world release recorded performances of every rhapsody of the Odyssey. A Rhapsody was released every hour, on the hour, across the two day event to a wide spread audinece via Youtube.

The performace of Rhapsody 12 was shared between the Australian National Univerity and China's Fudan University. The first half of the performance see's staff and students from SLLL's Centre for Classical Studies, headed by Dr Greta Hawes, each present readings from different sections of the 12th Rhapsody story. Dr Hawes was joined by Liam Maldoni, Daniel Prestipino, Tate Jenetsky and Elizabeth Hampton aswell as Dr Sonia Pertsinidis and Emeritus Proffessor Eliabeth Minchin. The video which premiered at 7:00pm on wednesday the 9th, is now available for playback on Harved University's Centre for Hellnic Studies Youtube page, along with all other 24 performances from the event.
